As a philanthropist, through the ART OF GIVING, which Susan established several years ago, she gives a percentage of the proceeds from her bi-annual art exhibitions to a charity of her choice.

What do you attribute your success to?:

Susan attributes her success to her passion, vision and drive. She has an underpinning philosophy to enable others to be the best they can be.

How did you get involved in your profession?:

Susan became involved in her profession because she has a natural gift to enable and inspire others. Her passion has been driven by her underpinning values of social justice and human rights.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career?:

Some of the highlights of Susan's career include being the Co-founder of the Ball Foundation (UK) and SMARTCare Lifestyle Solutions Foundation which enable people with disabilities to live quality lives. In addition, she was instrumental in establishing Jacaranda Housing, a group of housing co-ops in southeast Queensland. Susan was also instrumental in establishing the Career Employment Australia Consortium. Susan Ball is the author of "Universal Life Lessons from My Brilliant Blue Bohemian Butterfly."

Where will you be in five years?:

In five years, Susan intends to expand her career, write more books, and empower and inspire more people and communities across the globe.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

As the Bequest and Major Gift Officer at Anglicare Southern Queensland, Susan is responsible for donor engagement, communication and development; donor relations and recognition; donor events and initiatives; major gift program; and the bequest program. Relationship development and donor stewardship are important aspects of this exciting role.


Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; NVQ Advanced Level 3, Information, Advice and Guidance; Cert III in Disability and fully qualified Disability Support Worker; Accredited Art of Hosting Facilitator.

Extended Bio:

Susan's experience in the community sector is comprehensive, including working in the UK, Brunei and Italy. Her main professional aspiration is to continue to find innovative ways to enhance people's lives by empowering and enabling each person to be the best that they can be. Her current role as Bequest and Major Gift Officer at Anglicare Southern Queensland enables her to bring all of her life-learned skills together to grow a caring and giving community. She also shares her knowledge as a life lessons leader through her book "Universal Life Lessons from My Brilliant Blue Bohemian Butterfly." This book enables every reader, no matter what their circumstances, to appreciate what they do have in their lives and to apply the eighty-five lessons.
